Festival des 5 Continents 2023
The weekend of June 23-25, the Festival des 5 Continents celebrates its 30th anniversary and its return to the Place du Manoir!
For 3 days, Martigny will be the sounding board for melodies composed and listened to around the world. Three stages will host international and local artists as well as a multitude of "discovery stages". This year also marks the return of the emblematic 5 Continents Market and the Teranga Village with its food prepared by the city's communities.

Music programming:
In a desire for artistic discovery, this jubilee edition is an invitation to live experiences rich in diversity where traditions will merge with current music. With a program that goes off the beaten track, the artists will challenge our senses and play with musical and geographical boundaries.
Friday concerts: The festivities will start on Friday with Dan Gharibian Trio (Armenia/France). This first concert is an invitation to (re)discover gypsy, Armenian and Russian songs and ballads, but also Greek blues and the soul of the gypsy people. In the middle of the evening, Douar Trio (France/Tunisia) will bewitch you with its modern and airy jazz-oriental. Then BandAdriatica (Italy/Balkan) will set the Manor Square on fire with its contagious energy capable of drawing us into a party that promises to be memorable!
Saturday's concerts: On Saturday, the public is invited to listen to Merope (Lithuania/Belgium) and its unusual universe in which folklore is in tune with the times. Ebo Krdum (Sudan/Sweden) will then defend a political music, an afro-blues mixed with afrobeat rooted in the sub-Saharan region. In her songs, tinged with blues, maloya or rock, Christine Salem (Reunion Island) will give thanks to her ancestors and will sing the hope of a better world. The audience will discover how Davide Ambrogio (Italy) is inspired by the oral tradition to create his own musical language.
This year, thanks to the collaboration with the Cape Verde Association of Valais, the festival is pleased to present the mythical group of the island: Ferro gaita. The concert of the "Kings of funana" promises to be as volcanic as the archipelago itself.
Throughout the weekend, the "Local Global" program will celebrate the cultural exchange between more than twenty artists from Switzerland and elsewhere. With notably Flexfab & Ziller Bas (Switzerland/Kenya) who will propose a clever mix of African club music, electro, bass music and rap. Between contemporaneity and tradition, Swiran (Switzerland/Iran) will take us on a musical journey weaving
